After a small issue with bags at the airport my flight was perfect.

I ended up sitting in the middle of the Watt family. They were amazing, especially Kiaran, an 8 year old football fanatic and Man United supporter, who, when I told him I was walking 3,100 miles his eyes opened wide with suprise. I started to realise what I am actually letting myself in for when an 8 year old started quizing me on how it would actually work.

Kiaran, if you get to read this, you are the first person who made me think about how mad I might be and it was great to see that sport can have that much of a hold on such a young person’s life. He was talking about going to play ‘Soccer’ when he got home after his trans-atlantic flight.

I am now heading to bed as I have to be up in the moring for a telephone interview with SAfm Radio. A South African Talk Radio show to discuss developing rugby in Africa.
