Day 44 – Livin’ On A Prayer (Half Way There)

Day 44 – Livin’ On A Prayer (Half Way There)

First things first. Go listen to this song. It has a lot of relevance to today! For those that don’t know it is by Bon Jovi.

Shattered

This blog won’t be long as I am totally shattered. I said yesterday that I would make it to the half way line by tonight. I have done it but I had to walk 45 miles to get here. It was tough. Also the fact that it was 37 degrees didn’t help things. I was joking with my old school friends Georgie Crane about how nice it was…but actually it was exhausting. Also walking through cities is pretty tiring. The stop start of the Walk/Don’t Walk signs really mucks up your pace.

Halfway There

So here we are. I am so happy. Exhausted but happy. It is a mixed feeling of how much I have completed but also I know know how much I have left to go. Once again, I want to Thank Ali & Helen for all their hard work. It really does make all the difference. I have to appologies for my stoppy moods sometimes. Also to Nigel & Mike for all your time and effort and to My dad, Pappa Beebs, and Jen along with Mum & Moe. All of you have been amazing. As for the rest of you. It is incredible how many people are keeping up to date with the walk. I am glad I am entertaining you. Please get in touch, leave a message or tweet me. It would be great to hear from you! 1554 miles in the bag, BOOM!

Here are some pics from today!

Well done Jonny!  I was afraid you might have taken the words of the song  ’24 hours from Tulsa’ seriously – He met a girl in a bar and never made it to Tulsa!!
You DID make it and now you are counting down – Keep going – Pace yourself – You have plenty left in you! Lots of love from everyone here – Dad (Pappa Beebs!) x

You’ve faced the doubts, the uncertainties and the fears – now there is just the finishing line.
Wear your badge of pride quietly inside yourself.
It’s yours by right – you’ve worked damned hard for it and you do not have to wear it on your lapel like a medal – it will shine from inside you by the way you walk, talk, see and speak with the knowledge and understanding of it all.
    There is more to come!
    Love you x

Jon, I have been in sprit with you, I know you have had ups and downs on your journey. Who else in their lifetime can say to your kids one day look what I did I have walked across America for a great cause for gods children.  Just think most people travel either by plane, bus or train to get to the places you have walked to. You also can say you have walked on the old historical Route 66. Congrat’s to you on your half way mark, I know you will now look at this as a new journey from Tulsa to your finish line in Los Angles.  I am working with video crew and the dated I am shooting for is Sunday  July  10th at 2:00PM to get this video of towns people on Logan County Courthouse. I have been in touch with Lincoln Daily News and our Radio station and Lincoln Courier to get the word out. Is this date OK or does it need to be sooner than planned. Please let me know as soon as possible you’d the Man. I am glad you decided to walk or we would have never met and now are friends for life. Be safe and Gods speed to your next destinations.  Roger
