05 Jun Day 35 – Easy Like Sunday Morning
Another day off. Two in one week, LAZY!! So not much to report. We went to the Arch and saw how it was constructed. It was really interesting but the movie must have been made back in the 60’s. The music was quite comical.
We just pottered around St. Louis, had some lunch and then had a slow, relaxed drive back to the RV which was parked in Bourbon, MO. We decided to drive down the road I walked. I wanted Jen to see really what it was like. She is coming with me first thing tomorrow for the first 10 miles. I Can’t wait to just natter and have a laugh before she heads back to San Diego for her last month on the boat.
Feel relaxed and almost tired as I have had too much sleep! I can’t wait to get back into the walking, make up some of the miles I am behind and really push for Tulsa, the half way point, then, in my mind, everything will be one big countdown! It has be amazing having both Dad and Jen out here but I know my concentration has slipped. I need routine and do drill myself. If I don’t my mind loses it’s drive and I lack pace and also it can be a little dangerous.
Sorry the blog is so short but it was just a relaxed day! Back into the swing of things tomorrow. Sunday is my Monday! Sunday morning blues I feel!
Also, I shaved my beard off! With the arrival of the new Azor 5 by King Of Shaves and Remington, my sponsors, I felt It was time to get rid of the rugged explorer look. I like it, but it had to go. Felt a little strange but not I am clean shaven, After having a mustache for about 5 mins, for my Geordie mate Rhys, who makes the best baguettes in Newcastle. I am now ready to spread the word of the King!!

Posted at 08:58h, 05 JuneOK lazy bones back to the graft and grind – you are looking great and sounding in a good place in your mind – It’s obviously been a good booster charge having Jen and your Dad out there for a bit – use all that positive energy – Nigel and Maggie send there best and I think Nigel is missing the thrill of it all – I couldn’t believe the amount of food he said he was cooking for you – God that amount would feed your Mom and I for a week!! Love you, miss you and very very proud of you but keep a mentaleye on the weight and the the tiredness which it can cause..OK? Stay safe. xx

Posted at 09:13h, 05 JuneHi darling boy you sound so strong and positive – it is good that you have had the time with Dad and especially Jen. Now time to carry on and reach that half way mark though what you have done so far is amazing, extraordinary and you should be proud of everything you have achieved. My “easy” Sunday includes gardening and accounts -ugh! Love Mumxxx

Posted at 21:49h, 05 JuneGlad you had a good time in the LOU, St. Louis as the locals call it. You have me addicited to your blogs and updates. I could not have recommended a better place to eat, the Drunken Fish, or a better place to visit, the Arch and Busch Stadium. Good luck getting to Tulsa. It will be down hill from the half way point. I look forward to your continued updates. God Speed Jon
